     Kathleen Trapolin was born in 1958 and raised in New Orleans.  She attended the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio where she was awarded a Ford Foundation scholarship for her printmaking and sculpture. After moving back to New Orleans, she got her BFA from Newcomb College and has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work in watercolor. She has taught in many schools including The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, and the Saint Tammany Art Association. Her work can be seen in many public and private collections. Kathleen is known both for her large, colorful patterned paintings and her watercolor portraits. Her family has always been her greatest inspiration.
